Our Founding Story

Divine Inspiration
In 2023, Luna met a Noke Koi Paje, the first Noke Koi to travel to the United States, receiving a profound healing that inspired her journey.

First Visit
Luna and founding board members became the first American residents to visit Nomanawa village in October 2023.

Sacred Conversation
During a profound conversation with the pajés by the sacred Samauma Tree, Luna received Divine inspiration to support the Noke Koi people.

Shared Vision
Chief Yama and the Paje shared they had been praying for the right person to help their people and felt Luna was it.
Birth of Vozes Da Floresta
Divine Calling
Luna felt instructed by higher forces to support the Noke Koi people and the Forest itself.
Tribal Recognition
Chief Yama and the Paje—both influential tribal leaders—believed Luna was the answer to their prayers.
Nonprofit Creation
Luna realized her destiny was to stand in solidarity with the Nomanawa and all Indigenous people.
Shared Vision
Chief Yama had the same vision, and Vozes Da Floresta was born from this alignment.
The Urgent Mission
Growing Threats
Climate change, rubber tappers, oil drilling, agriculture slash and burns, and water pollution have created a fragile situation for forest communities.
Indigenous Struggle
Forest people face increasingly complex challenges surviving due to destruction not caused by the native peoples who live there and protect it.
Critical Timing
Chief Yama believes the time is near—the people of the forest are calling for help before the tipping point is crossed and the virgin rainforest can no longer sustain healthy ecosystems.
Global Importance
Protecting the rainforest benefits everyone on the planet as it maintains environmental balance and houses vast biodiversity.
